The 4Cs (Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat)

The 4Cs are the standard way diamonds are graded. Understanding them helps you choose the best balance of beauty and value.

Cut

Cut has the biggest impact on sparkle. A well cut diamond returns light brilliantly and looks lively even at modest sizes. If you are unsure where to prioritise, start with cut.

Colour

Colour describes how colourless a diamond appears. Many customers choose near colourless grades for an excellent balance, especially once set in jewellery.

Clarity

Clarity refers to natural internal characteristics (inclusions) and surface features. Many diamonds appear completely clean to the eye without being the highest clarity grade. We can help you choose an eye clean option.

Carat

Carat is the diamond’s weight. Two diamonds can have the same carat weight but look slightly different in size depending on cut and proportions.
