Every Rafayel Diamonds piece is supplied with clear documentation, so you can understand what you’re buying, how it has been graded, and how to verify it.

When issued in the UK, a diamond certificate (also called a grading report or diamond dossier) is an independent report produced by qualified gemmologists in a recognised gemmological laboratory. It provides an impartial assessment of a diamond’s key characteristics and supports authenticity, transparency and peace of mind.

IGI as standard, GIA available on request

Rafayel Diamonds provides IGI certification as standard. If you would prefer a GIA report, this can be arranged as an optional upgrade for an additional fee.

What your diamond report typically includes

A recognised grading report will usually include the following:

• Carat weight, colour, clarity and cut/finish information
• Shape and measurements
• Polish, symmetry and fluorescence
• A unique report number and recorded identifying characteristics (such as inclusions)
• Additional notes and grading diagrams (where applicable)

How to verify your certificate

Your report includes a unique report number. In most cases, you can verify the grading details by entering this number on the issuing laboratory’s online report-check service. This allows you to match your documentation to the laboratory record.

Some diamonds may also carry an optional laser inscription of the report number on the girdle. Where present, this can provide an extra layer of reassurance when the diamond is viewed under magnification.

Finished jewellery and multi-stone designs

For designs featuring multiple diamonds (for example, halos, clusters, tennis bracelets and eternity styles), documentation may be provided as a jewellery certificate or a specification summary. This typically records the overall diamond details for the piece (such as total carat weight and the stated colour/clarity range), alongside the setting information.

Insurance and ownership records

A grading report is a useful document for ownership and insurance records. Some insurers may also request an insurance valuation depending on your policy. If you’d like guidance on what your insurer might need, we’re happy to advise.

What you’ll receive

With your Rafayel Diamonds order, you will receive:

• An IGI diamond certificate as standard (or a GIA certificate if selected as a paid upgrade)
• Documentation suitable for ownership records and, where applicable, insurance
• UK hallmarking on precious metal pieces where required by law (with exemptions only where the law permits)
